Holdsclaw, Atlanta Dream to Play Exhibition Game in Cookeville

Cookeville, Tenn. (TTU Media Relations) - Former University of Tennessee star Chamique Holdsclaw will return to the state where she gained national acclaim when the WNBA's Atlanta Dream take on the Washington Mystics in an exhibition contest May 9 at Tennessee Tech's Eblen Center in Cookeville. Tipoff for the game is at 3 p.m. CT.
Tickets are $10 each and available at the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center or by calling (931) 372-3940. There are several discount options available including a Mother's Day Family Plan of four tickets for $30. Groups and athletic teams can receive tickets for $5 each when purchased together.
Holdsclaw has averaged 17.3 points and nearly eight rebounds per game during her 10-year career in the WNBA. She has played in four WNBA All-Star contests and helped her team to the playoffs five times.
She finished her collegiate career as Tennessee's all-time leading scorer and rebounder with 3,025 points and 1,295 rebounds. She is also the all-time scoring and rebound leader in NCAA women's tournament history, a feat she accomplished while helping the Lady Vols to three consecutive NCAA Championships from 1996-1998.
A two-time Naismith Trophy winner as the national Player of the Year, Holdsclaw was a four-time Kodak and Associated Press first-team All-America selection. In 2006, she was named to the women's collegiate basketball Silver Anniversary Team as one of the 25 greatest players over the past 25 years.
