Student Naming Contest for Baseball Pep Group
February 11, 2010 | Baseball
Feb. 11, 2010
The Tennessee baseball team and Head Coach Todd Raleigh are giving University of Tennessee students the opportunity to name the official baseball student pep group. Ideas are encouraged to be creative and include references to UT mascots, traditions, color and more.
"The team is looking forward to having a student fan group at the games," Raleigh said. "The support of the students always gives the team a boost and hopefully the name of the group will reflect the pride that UT students have in their team."
All entries should be sent to utathletics@utk.edu and must be received by noon on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Contest officials will narrow the entries to four finalists and fans will have the opportunity to vote for the winning name by visiting UTSports.com from Feb. 18 to Feb. 22.
The student with the winning name will win free use of a "Porch" during one non-conference baseball game. "The Porch" is a fan area behind left field where you can host up to 15 friends for a game. The other finalists will receive an official Adidas Tennessee baseball cap and shirt.
All contestants must be enrolled at the University of Tennessee and be at least 18 years of age. Names are to be associated with only the University of Tennessee. Names including logos, mascots or slogans of any other university will be disqualified. Negative and distasteful designs are also prohibited.
