Tennessee senior offensive tackle Chris Scott has accepted an invitation to play in the 85th East-West Shrine Game, benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Scott was an All-SEC second team performer this season and one of three UT offensive linemen to start every game. He was named to the All-SEC second teams by both the league writers and coaches after anchoring a Vols line that allowed only 12 regular season sacks and ranked among the nation's leaders in fewest penalty yards all season.
Scott and his linemates helped senior tailback Montario Hardesty rush for 1,345 yards -- the fourth-highest season total in school history.
A Riverdale, Ga., native, Scott ended his Tennessee career with 39 consecutive starts, tying Eric Berry for the longest active streak at season's end.
The East-West Shrine Game boasts a list of alums representing the football greats of today and yesterday, including John Elway, Tom Brady, Brett Favre and many more. Check the East-West Shrine Game Web site at shrinegame.com for more information.
This year's game kicks off Jan. 23 at 3 p.m. Eastern time from Orlando, Fla.
