FOX Sports Tennessee announced today that the network will distribute the University of Tennessee women's basketball game against the University of Georgia on Thursday, February 5 to a national audience. The game will be televised live to more than 54 million households, with an additional 24 million households set to receive the game on a same-day delay. University of Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt will be seeking her 1,000th career coaching victory when the No. 12 Lady Vols host the Lady Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET.
"Thursday's game has the potential to be one of the most memorable games in college basketball history," said Jeff Genthner, senior vice president and general manager of FOX Sports South. "We are privileged to produce and distribute the game to a national audience and, should the Lady Vols win on Thursday against a tough SEC opponent, welcome the opportunity to allow sports fans across the country to witness this milestone with Coach Summitt."
Thursday's telecast coincides with the recent debut of the SportSouth Originals program Spotlight: Pat Summitt, which provides an unparalleled look at a coaching legend at work and rare insight into her approach to the game of basketball.
