Tennessee held its first Sunday night practice of the season and began preparations for UAB and the 2008 home opener.
"We got done what we needed to get done last week, hopefully making the corrections that needed to be made," head coach Phillip Fulmer said. "There were so many fundamental things we didn't do well (at UCLA), but tonight was very crisp. We got into UAB more than anything."
Fulmer says the Blazers, 0-2, have had a great deal of success offensively, averaging 28 points per game during losses to Tulsa and Florida Atlantic.
"They are multiple on defense and very good on offense with the numbers they have put up. It's definitely a challenge."
The Vols and Blazers kickoff Saturday at 12:30 p.m., with the Vol Network and Raycom Sports carrying the action. UT also is embarking on a nine-game stretch of games that will see the team's weekly routine return much more toward normal after the opening Monday night game at UCLA and the open date in Week 2.
