Tennessee completed a long first day Saturday by taking to Haslam Field for the team???s 2008 practice debut. The Vols were scheduled for two hours in the first of two days in shorts, as mandated by NCAA rules.
Earlier Saturday, UT hosted its annual Media Day activities at Neyland Stadium. More than 65 newspaper, radio, television, magazine and Internet outlets were on hand to capture preseason comments from the entire squad. Head coach Phillip Fulmer offered his remarks, while assistant coaches and Volunteer players contributed their opinions and posed for video and still photographers during the three-hour session.
Tennessee practices again Sunday in shorts before adding shoulder pads for the Monday and Tuesday workouts. Wednesday is the first day in full pads and Saturday marks the first full scrimmage action.
