Patrick to Coach USA U20 Team in Europe

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ??? For the second straight year, University of Tennessee Head Volleyball Coach Rob Patrick will guide the Bring It Promotions/USA u20 Development Team in competition at the European Global Challenge to be held in Pula, Croatia, July 21-24.
???It is an honor to work with USA Volleyball and the great athletes that will be participating in this tournament,??? Patrick said. ???This will be a great experience for me and provides me with an opportunity to work with colleagues that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. I will also be able to continue to broaden my knowledge of the game and, hopefully, bring back new ideas to our program, by studying the style of volleyball played in Europe.???
The BIP/USA u20 Development Team is comprised of the top collegiate players that are not with the A2 or Youth/Junior National Team this summer. The final roster features 13 players, including student-athletes from 10 different colleges and a pair of club teams. Joining Patrick on the staff will be Northern Illinois Head Coach Ray Gooden, Western Carolina Head Coach Stephanie Dragan and University of New Orleans Head Coach Jozsef Forman.
The BIP/USA u20 squad will compete against some of the top junior talent in Europe with teams from Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Italy, Montenegro, Romania, Russia and Slovenia set to take part in the tournament. Also making the trip from the United States will be squads from California, Colorado and Florida.
Prior to competing in the European Global Challenge, Patrick and his squad will travel to Slovenia where they will take on Targu Mures Romania on July 18 in Maribor and the Danish Junior National Team on July 19 in Ljubljana. From there, the BIP/USA team will continue on to Pula, Croatia for a morning contest against Karpol's Uralocka from Russia on July 20.
