Former Vols in pro baseball update

Last week???s MLB highlights from former Tennessee players in professional baseball include a couple promotions for former Vols and impressive pitching performances from others. Below are the best performances from former Vols during last week???s action.
??? Deunte Heath (2006) won his first Class-AA game on Thursday as the Mississippi Braves defeated the Birmingham Barons by the score of 6-5. Heath pitched 5.2 innings allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out one and walking three. He now has a record of 1-1 with a 4.22 ERA in two starts for the Braves.
??? Julio Borbon (2005-07) was promoted to the Class-AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers, the Frisco Roughriders on Saturday. He made his Texas League debut Sunday and went 1-for-5 with a hit and a run scored while playing centerfield for the Roughriders.
??? Chase Headley (2004-05) entered Sunday???s game hitting .250 for the San Diego Padres in 11 games since being called up from Class-AAA Portland. Headley is 6-for-13 from the right side while just 5-for-13 from the left. In 12 games at the major league level, Headley had 12 hits, three home runs and five RBI. ??? Jordan Czarniecki (2002-03) was promoted to the Class-AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Salt Lake Bees on Thursday. Before his promotion he was batting .296 with 67 hits, 23 RBI, 14 doubles and six home runs for the Class-AA Arkansas Travelers. Czarniecki made his Pacific Coast League debut Thursday night. On Saturday, he went 3-for-4 with a home run. He is batting 2.50 with fours hits in four games thus far for the Bees.
??? Luke Hochevar (2003-05) earned his fifth win of the season Wednesday night as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Colorado Rockies 4-2. Hochevar pitched eight innings, giving up only two runs on seven hits, while walking two and striking out three. The win marked his second in the month of June. He finished the month of June with a 2-0 record and a 4.02 ERA. For the season, he has a record of 5-5 with a 4.60 ERA.
