Home opener set for Raycom Sports telecast

Tennessee begins its 2008 home football schedule with an early afternoon kickoff against UAB, according to an official release Tuesday from the Southeastern Conference.
The SEC office distributed a list of television start times for selected 2008 football games, most of which take place in the first month of the season.
Included in the announcement was news that Tennessee???s Sept. 13 home opener against UAB is being televised by Raycom Sports and kicks off at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time. UT began its 2005 season against UAB, a game that also kicked off in the early afternoon time slot for regional television.
The Vols won that contest 17-10.
Tennessee opens its 2008 football schedule on the West Coast for the second straight year, debuting Sept. 1 at UCLA. Kickoff for the Labor Day primetime telecast from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., is 5 p.m. Pacific time (8 p.m. Eastern) on ESPN.
League officials also announced that the SEC Championship Game is staying at a 4 p.m. start from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. CBS Sports televises that game again this year on Dec. 6.
