Morgado perfect in USA Baseball debut

Tennessee pitcher Bryan Morgado made his USA Baseball National Team Trials debut Friday, tossing a perfect inning out of the bullpen as the Trials Team defeated the Holyoke Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League 7-2 at MacKenzie Stadium in Holyoke, Mass.
Morgado???a Freshman All-America selection this past season who ranked third in the Southeastern Conference with 104 strikeouts???was summoned out of the bullpen for the fifth inning. The left-hander from Miami, Fla., induced a pair of groundouts before recording an inning-ending strikeout.
Pitching continued to be a strong suit for the National Trials Team Friday, as five pitchers combined to hold Holyoke to two runs, (one earned) on five hits with 11 strikeouts. The staff???s scoreless innings streak ended at 15 1/3 as the Blue Sox scored an unearned run off Baylor???s Kendal Volz in the seventh.
Fellow Vol Kentrail Davis started Friday???s game in left field and went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a pair of walks.
The Trials Team returns to action Saturday when it travels to Lynn, Mass., to face the North Shore Navigators of the NECBL.
FORSYTHE BELTS FIFTH HOME RUN FOR THOMASVILLE
Tennessee rising sophomore Blake Forsythe clubbed his fifth home run of the summer Friday with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Thomasville HiToms of the Coastal Plain League to a 3-2 win over the Gastonia Grizzlies in Gastonia, N.C.
A catcher from Memphis, Tenn., Forsythe has started 12 games this summer for the 7-6 HiToms. He leads the club in home runs, runs scored (10), RBI (11) and slugging (.591). His five homers place him in a tie for the league lead.
