Tennessee trailed the series-opener against Florida 2-0 through five and a half innings before Griffin awakened the Vols??? offense with a towering two-run blast that hit the lights in the right-field light tower.
The Vols also trailed the second game of the series 5-1 until UT exploded for an eight-run fifth inning in which Griffin delivered a solo homer. He added another solo bomb in the series-finale Sunday while going 3-for-3 at the plate.
Griffin has homered in each of his last four games against Florida. His incredible offensive weekend propelled him into Tennessee???s team lead in batting average (.371), home runs (five) and slugging percentage (.607). He is batting .356 in SEC play.
Griffin has started 22 games for Tennessee this season, with 11 starts coming in left field. He is the second Vol to earn an SEC weekly honor this season. Centerfielder Kentrail Davis was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on March 10.
