Voting for the Tennessee Baseball All-Century Team is now open. Volunteers fans are encouraged to assist in selecting the All-Century Team in conjunction with a year-long celebration of 100 seasons of baseball at UT.
The 2009 season will mark Tennessee???s 100th varsity campaign. The Vols??? first official varsity team was fielded in 1897, but there were years when Tennessee did not compete in baseball, such as the World War II period of 1943-46.
Fans can vote for members of the team by visiting www.UTsports.com, where they can access a ballot and statistical information on the players. Paper ballots also will be available at Tennessee???s final two Southeastern Conference home series against Vanderbilt this weekend and Kentucky May 9-11.
Voting for the All-Century Team will continue through the fall, and the results will be announced at the 2009 Tennessee Baseball Leadoff Banquet.
