PeyBack Foundation awards more than $600,000

"I am extremely proud to announce the PeyBack Foundation s distribution of $606,000 to 125 youth related agencies in Indiana, Tennessee and New Orleans areas. This is the highest amount we have given in any one year since our inception. We are honored to be able to impact the lives of thousands of children and their families through our grant program," Foundation President, Peyton Manning commented after the grant process was complete.
In addition to the $300,200 given to 69 organizations in Indiana and $155,800 given to 34 organizations in Tennessee; $150,000 was given to 22 New Orleans based charities.
$606,000 is the largest amount the PeyBack Foundation has given at one time. More than 300 applications were received.
The PeyBack Foundation, a public non-profit corporation, was established by Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in 1999 to promote the future success of disadvantaged youth by assisting programs that provide leadership growth and opportunities for children at risk. The Foundation has donated more than $2.5 million since its inception.
Requests for grants are accepted from agencies and organizations actively advancing the welfare of disadvantaged children in Indiana, New Orleans and Tennessee. All requests for financial assistance are given careful consideration by the PeyBack Foundation and judged on the unique merits of the individual agency, its goal and mission. Each organization must complete a PeyBack Foundation grant application to be considered. The deadline for the 2009 grants is February 2.
