The Volunteer Athletics & Scholarship Fund (VASF) will host its annual VASF Day on Saturday, Oct.4 prior to the Northern Illinois game.
The event will take place in Thompson-Boling Arena from 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. Fans can expect a variety of activities for all ages including inflatable games, face painting, appearances by the UT cheerleaders, dance team and Smokey while enjoying live music by Uncle Funky and Friends. Members of the men's basketball, baseball and tennis teams, along with members of the Lady Vol basketball, softball, soccer, golf, track and volleyball teams will be on-hand to sign autographs. VASF members should enter Thompson-Boling Arena through the west entrance ramp on Phillip Fulmer Way and the west entrance ramp from the G5/30 parking lot gates.
"The support we receive from our VASF members across the country year-in and year-out continues to grow," said Mike Hamilton, men's athletics director. "We invite all of our members to join us for these festivities before cheering on the Vols against Northern Illinois."
The VASF is coming off another great year in 2007-2008, raising $41.6 million for student-athlete scholarships and capital improvements. The financial support given by VASF donors is an integral factor in the overall success of Tennessee Athletics. VASF Day is just one way to say thank you to all donors for their generous and loyal support to Tennessee Athletics.
