Ticket Info for Minute Maid Classic

The Houston Astros Tuesday announced ticket information for the 2008 Minute Maid College Classic, one of the nation???s premier early-season college baseball tournaments. Tennessee is among the six-team field for this year???s event, which takes place Feb. 29 through March 2 at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Joining the Volunteers will be Houston and Rice???both of which have become annual participants in the College Classic. Three Big 12 teams also are competing this year, as Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech round out the field. Rice (No. 6) and Texas (No. 8) are both ranked in the top 10 of Collegiate Baseball???s preseason poll.??
Tennessee faces Texas on Friday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. CT in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. On Saturday, March 1, the Vols take on Texas Tech at 3:30 p.m. CT. Tennessee???s final game of the tournament comes against Oklahoma at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday, March 2. The Vols??? only previous meeting with Oklahoma came in the 1951 national championship game at the College World Series, which the Sooners won by a score of 3-2.
Tickets for the College Classic will be available at the Minute Maid Park box office beginning Friday, Jan. 25, and also are available by telephone (1-877-927-8767) and online at www.astros.com.
For the College Classic, single-day ticket prices are $13 for daily admission and $30 for the entire tournament (Friday-Sunday). Children???s tickets (for ages 4-14) are $6 daily and $15 for the tournament. Student tickets also are $6 and are only available at the box office with a valid student ID. All general-admission tickets, which grant seating on the main concourse lower bowl only, are available at the Minute Maid Park box office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.??
Additionally, Club Level tickets are $20 for the evening game only each day (Tennessee plays the evening game on Friday, Feb. 29, against Texas), and Diamond Club seating will be available on a per-game basis for all nine games of the tournament. There is also an Astros season-ticket-holder discount available by visiting the box office ($6.50 per day).
This year marks the eighth annual Minute Maid College Classic. Tennessee participated in the 2005 event, falling to Texas A&M and Baylor before defeating Oklahoma State.
