Vols in the NFL ??? Week 3 Highlights

The NFL season is three weeks old after another weekend of action concluded Monday night. Week 3 action was highlighted by the always-solid play of Peyton Manning and Jason Witten as well as a big day from Deon Grant. Below are the best performances from former Volunteers during the weekend???s action.
?????Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning completed 20 of 29 passes for 271 yards and a touchdown in a 30-24 win over Houston Sunday. Manning currently ranks fourth in the NFL in passing yards per game with an average of 291. He also has the Colts off to a 3-0 start for the third consecutive year.
?????Cowboys tight end Jason Witten caught six passes for 90 yards and a touchdown in Dallas??? 34-10 win over the Bears Sunday night. Witten is averaging 77 receiving yards a game, which ranks him third among tight ends through three games.
?????Defensive back Deon Grant posted nine tackles, a pass defense and an interception to lead the Seattle defense in a 24-21 win over the Bengals. Grant???s second-quarter pick was converted into a Seattle touchdown just three plays later when Matt Hasselbeck hit Deion Branch for a 42-yard score and a 14-10 Seahawk lead.?? The Seattle defense forced four turnovers in the game and has forced the fourth-most turnovers in the league (8) through three games.
?????The Packers??? Chad Clifton and Scott Wells both have started all three games on the offensive line for Green Bay, which is 3-0 for the first time since 1998 after beating San Diego 31-24 on Sunday.?? The Packers have struggled to run the ball, but the offensive line has allowed only seven sacks through three games.
?????Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth posted four tackles in Tennessee???s 31-14 win over New Orleans Monday night. The Titans held the Saints to just 34 yards rushing in the game and are currently ranked second in the league in rushing defense.
?????Rookie Update: Arron Sears has started all three games at left guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ??? The Bucs are averaging 119 yards a game on the ground and have allowed only six sacks ??? Kansas City defensive tackle Turk McBride registered his first career sack and experienced his first NFL win Sunday as the Chiefs defeated Minnesota 13-10 ??? St. Louis defensive back Jonathan Wade moved into the five-man rotation in the Rams secondary Sunday vs. Tampa Bay and posted two tackles.
