High School: Franklin
You were one of five incoming freshmen to participate in spring practice. What was your first college football experience like?
???Since I came out early, going straight into college football was a real eye-opener. When I watch the film and look at myself, I was uptight and I could tell I was stiff. I wasn???t running very fast. I was scared to death because everyone was bigger than me.???
The receiving positions are wide open going into the season. Do you feel like you have an opportunity to get on the field in your first year?
???It is wide open. I have just as good a shot as everybody else that???s out there working. Trooper (Taylor) can???t put us all out there if we???re all working hard, but I feel like I have a good shot just like everybody else.???
Did you enjoy playing in Neyland Stadium for the first time during the spring game?
???Even though the stadium wasn???t full, to see that many people there was another really big eye opener. Just being able to play with the guys you???ve trained with all spring was a fun experience.???
What was one thing you didn???t know about UT or Knoxville that surprised you when you got here?
???Nobody ever told me how the fans would treat me. Even if they don???t know you personally, if they know you play ball, then they are going to embrace you.???
Who are your role models?
???I look up to Inky Johnson. He???s been through the fire before. Talking with him and watching the things that he does, I try and model myself after him because he is always doing the right thing. He is always around and accessible to us.???
What are some of your hobbies away from football?
???When I get free time, I like to go home and spend time with my sister and fish. Relax and fish. Those are my hobbies.???
Do you have any nicknames?
???Some of my teammates call me TC. Austin (Rogers) calls me Toddarious. One day he asked me if Todd was short for anything. I was joking around and told him Toddarious, so now that???s what he calls me.???
