Lady Vol Postcard from Mindy Flynn

??While traveling throughout Europe with the USA/BIP u20 Select Team, Lady Vol volleyball players Mindy Flynn and Leah Hinkey are providing fans of the Orange and White with periodic updates through journal entries on www.utladyvols.com. They are currently in Pordenone, Italy, outside of Venice, training with UT head coach Rob Patrick and alongside the USA Junior A2 Team for four days. After that, they will make the trip Pula, Croatia, where they will compete in the 2007 European Global Challenge, July 22-26. The first journal entry from Mindy Flynn is below.
Yesterday, our first day in Pordenone was great! We had an easy practice to loosen up from the nine-hour flight. It's really hot in the gym. No air conditioning here either. We have nine people on our team, five from the SEC, three others from all over the states and our setter is from Italy. It's a completely different ball game playing with a European setter, not to mention a huge language barrier, but it's working out well.
This morning we got up early and had another practice. It was difficult waking up so early because it was about 11 at night in Tennessee time. We are about to head out to lunch and then do some more sightseeing of the city. Later tonight we have another practice then have the rest of the night off. The ice cream is absolutely amazing here!!! We eat it after almost every meal. Tomorrow we go to Venice after our morning practice...we are all so excited for that!
