The Tennessee men's tennis team jumped up 14 spots to No. 22 Tuesday in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings after defeating Alabama and Auburn this past weekend.
The Vols (12-4, 4-2 SEC) are currently tied for second in the SEC East with Florida, two games behind the nation's No. 1 ranked team Georgia. Both of Tennessee's losses in SEC play were 4-3 with the deciding match going down to a third-set tiebreaker. Three of the Vols' losses have been by a score of 4-3 and all four of Tennessee's losses have been to team's currently ranked in the top-15 in the nation.
The ranking is the highest of the season for Tennessee. The Vols opened the season ranked 41st but have climbed the standings steadily since the beginning of the season.
The Vols travel to 38th-ranked Vanderbilt on Friday and play at 56th-ranked Kentucky on Sunday. Live match results can be found at UTsports.com.
