Noting Tennessee
- Tennessee improves to 7-3 overall, 4-2 in the SEC; Arkansas falls to 6-4 overall, 2-4 in the SEC.
- The Vols entered the game ranked 22nd by the Associated Press and 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Arkansas was unranked.
- Tennessee returns to action Nov. 17 when it hosts Vanderbilt. The game will begin at 2:00 ET and will be a PPV telecast.
- Today???s contest marked the 16th meeting between Tennessee and Arkansas. The Vols now lead the all-time series 13-3.
- Tennessee leads the all-time series in Knoxville 6-1.
- Tennessee head coach Phillip Fulmer???s record now stands at 144-44 (.766) in 16 seasons with the Vols.
- Fulmer owns a 36-13 record against opponents from the SEC West.
- Only five other active coaches in major college football have career records at least 100 games over .500 (Bobby Bowden, Florida State; Joe Paterno, Penn State; Jim Tressel, Ohio State; Steve Spurrier, South Carolina and Chris Ault, Nevada)
- Junior tailback Arian Foster took his second carry of the second half 59 yards for a touchdown. The 59-yard score was the longest run by a Vol this season.
- Foster finished with 83 yards on 13 attempts. Foster now has 2,084 yards on 436 career attempts which puts him in 11th place on Tennessee???s career rushing list.
- Foster passed Aaron Hayden (1991-94; 2,061) for 11th place. The San Diego native is 5 yards from tying Charlie Garner (1992-93; 2,089) for 10th place all-time.
- Sophomore wide receiver Austin Rogers opened the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown reception from Ainge. It was Roger???s second touchdown reception of the season. Rogers finished the game with six catches for 62 yards.
- Junior wide receiver Josh Briscoe caught a 14-yard pass with 10 seconds remaining in the first half to give UT a 20-3 halftime lead. It was Briscoe???s third touchdown of the season and fourth of his career.
- Junior wide receiver Lucas Taylor caught four passes for 41 yards. The Carencro, La., native now has 56 receptions on the season which is the 11th most in a season by a Vol receiver.
- Tennessee did not allow a quarterback today and has allowed just three on the year. The Vols lead the FBS in sacks allowed.
- Starting quarterback Erik Ainge has been sacked just twice this year in 348 pass attempts.
- The Vols average one sack allowed for every 116 pass attempt this season.
- Freshman place-kicker Daniel Lincoln knocked home two of his three field goal attempts Saturday. Lincoln is now 18-of-21 this season. The 18 field goals is the most ever by a UT freshman.
- Lincoln has 95 points this season which is tied with Jeff Hall (1995) for most by a freshman kicker.
- Freshman safety Eric Berry notched his third interception of the season on the final play of the first half returning the interception 37 yards. Berry then intercepted Arkansas???s final pass of the game and returned it 61 yards. For the season, Berry has 207 return yards on his four interceptions. The 207 return yards is a single season record for interception return yards breaking the previous record of 177 set by Bobby Majors in 1970.
- In the first half, Arkansas had only 49 total yards and one first down.
- In the last four home games, the Tennessee defense has allowed only one first-half possession out of 23 advance into the redzone. The Razorbacks drove into the redzone on their first drive but Arkansas had returned the kickoff to the Tennessee 34-yard line.
- Arkansas had one first down on its opening drive of the game and did not have another first down until its second possession of the second half. Arkansas had five possessions between the first downs.
- Senior defensive end Xavier Mitchell recorded his first sack of the season in the third quarter. The Mississippi native has 7.5 sacks for his career.
- Arkansas running back Darren McFadden tied an SEC record with 321 rushing yards in his last outing. Today the Vols held the Razorback???s career rushing leader in relative check as McFadden finished with 117 yards on 22 carries.
- Junior linebacker Jerod Mayo returned his first career interception for 34 yards and a touchdown. Mayo finished with a team-high nine tackles.
- Sophomore defensive tackle Dan Williams had his second career sack and finished with five tackles, one short of his career-high, against the Razorbacks.
- Today???s attendance was 104,459. Today marks the 47th straight SEC game in Neyland Stadium played before more than 100,000 fans.
- Tennessee???s game captains today were seniors Erik Ainge, Chris Brown, Ryan Karl, J.T. Mapu and Xavier Mitchell.
- Senior tight end Brad Cottam saw his first action of the season on the opening drive of the game.
- Freshman kick returner Dennis Rogan took his first kick return of the game 78 yards to the Arkansas 15-yard line. It is UT???s longest kick return of the season surpassing LaMarcus Coker???s 74-yard return at Florida. Rogan also returned four punts for 32 yards.
- Freshman running back Lennon Creer took the opening kickoff and returned it a career-long 32 yards.
- The Vols led 20-3 at halftime. UT has outscored its opponents 93-3 in the first half in its last four home games.
- Tennessee controlled the ball for 20:55 in the first half.
- The Vols touchdown on the opening drive was the fifth time this season UT scored a touchdown on its first possession. UT also scored a touchdown on its first drive of the second half that marks the second time this season that Tennessee has scored a touchdown on its first drive in both halves. (Also accomplished against Mississippi State)
