Tennessee's first road trip of the young season starts Saturday in Memphis, when the Vols and Tigers clash at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Central time.
UT is an impressive 45-15 in road tilts under head coach Phillip Fulmer, who believes preparation is the key to success away from Knoxville.
"We're a young team and we don't want to leave anything to chance, so we've covered the entire trip," Fulmer said. "I'm expecting a good focus on what we have to do when we get to Memphis and that's win a very important football game.
"We have so little say about what times the games start anymore. TV is going to tell us and we are going to play it. We try not to make a big deal about it, which is why we did so well with the (rain) delay. When it's time to play, we'll play."
ESPN is carrying the telecast both this Saturday and one week later when the Vols visit Georgia. Kickoff in Athens is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Eastern time.
Fulmer announced that defensive end Jared Hostetter has been upgraded to probable for Saturday's game. The Louisa, Ky., junior last saw the field during Tennessee's 2005 Cotton Bowl win over Texas A&M but has fought through several injuries during his UT career.
Reserve offensive tackle Steven Jones is this week's VolScholar Athlete of the Week.
The Nashville junior stands second on the depth chart at right tackle. A member of the Thornton Center 30+ Club, Jones is on course to graduate in December with a degree in communication studies.
INJURY UPDATE (Memphis Week): Probable -- DE Jared Hostetter (knee); Questionable -- WR Austin Rogers (shoulder).
