UT-GEORGIA SCHEDULED FOR EVENING KICKOFF ON ESPN

The Southeastern Conference announced Monday that Tennessee's Oct. 7 contest at Georgia is being televised by ESPN and kicks off at 7:45 p.m. Eastern time. The game marks Tennessee's third appearance on ESPN this season and fourth nationally televised game. The Vols lead the series against Georgia 18-15-2, including a 9-7-1 mark in Athens. UT defeated the Bulldogs two years ago at Sanford Stadium, 19-14, and the Vols have won on five of their last seven visits to Athens. Other SEC teams involved in Oct. 7 televised games feature Arkansas at Auburn on CBS (11 a.m. Central), LSU at Florida on CBS (3:30 p.m. Eastern) and South Carolina at Kentucky on ESPN2 (7 p.m. Eastern).
SEARS NAMED SEC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
Senior offensive tackle Arron Sears earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after another strong showing in Tennessee's 33-7 win over Marshall.
Sears graded at 82 percent and had five knockdown blocks as UT topped the 30-point and 400-yard total offense barriers for the third time in four games this season. Tennessee also rushed for 176 yards against Marshall on only 24 attempts.
For his career, the Russellville, Ala., native has 17 starts at left tackle, six at right tackle, four at right guard and one at left guard. He earned the same SEC weekly honor last season against Mississippi.
COKER SELECTED VOLS "CAREacter STAR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Tennessee tailback LaMarcus Coker was selected the team's "CAREacter Star Athlete of the Week" for his outstanding off-field success.
The Antioch native is a redshirt freshman who already is making an impact in the East Tennessee area. He has been a frequent visitor to area hospitals and children's clubs.
On the field, Coker is just beginning to display his talents. The tailback helped seal Tennessee's 33-7 win over Marshall with a 146-yard rushing effort on only eight carries. His 89-yard touchdown scamper early in the fourth quarter was the third-longest rushing play in Tennessee history and the longest in 29 years. It was just the 16th rushing attempt in his young career.
Coker, who may get his first collegiate start Saturday at Memphis, took over the team lead in rushing with 199 yards on 19 attempts. He is averaging 10.5 yards per rushing attempt.
Every week the UT football coaching staff selects one student athlete as UT's "CAREacter Star Athlete of the Week" based on five criteria. As a reward for their accomplishments, these student-athletes will be recognized each week by their local media and presented with a T-shirt and a letter acknowledging them as UT's "Star Athlete of the Week."
VOL NETWORK BROADCAST ON 730 AM ESPN AND "PTS STADIUMCAST" IN MEMPHIS
Tennessee fans attending Saturday's game versus Memphis at the Liberty Bowl can listen to the game on the Vol Network's new Memphis area radio affiliate, 730 AM ESPN. Fans in the stands also can pick up the game on the "PTS Vol Network StadiumCast" at 87.9 on the FM dial.
Fans can listen to either signal by bringing a portable radio to the game. Vol Network programming begins Saturday with the "Kickoff Call In-Show" at 10:30 a.m. Easterm/9:30 Central. The "PTS Vol Network StadiumCast" is presented at all UT away games by PTS Office Automation, the preferred copier dealer of the Vol Network.
