The San Francisco 49ers announced that they have signed fifth-round draft pick Parys Haralson.
Haralson (6-0, 250) played defensive end at Tennessee, but has moved to outside linebacker in San Francisco's 3-4 defense.
A two-time team captain with the Volunteers, Haralson ranks fifth in Tennessee history with 21 quarterback sacks. He finished his career second in school history with 44 quarterback pressures and his 46.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage rank third in Tennessee history behind Reggie White (51) and Leonard Little (53).
With the signing, Haralson joins Marcus Hudson, Melvin Oliver, Vickiel Vaughn and Delanie Walker as 2006 draft picks who have signed with the 49ers. The 49ers have only four of their nine picks left to ink before completing its rookie class signings.
