- Including today's match-up against Arkansas, Tennessee has played a game on 11 of the last 12 Super Bowl Sundays and has hosted eight of those during that period at Thompson-Boling Arena.
- The Lady Vols are 17-1 overall on the day of the Super Bowl, 11-0 at home and 6-1 away with the lone loss to Georgia on Jan. 28, 1990, by a 76-81 count...that day in Super Bowl XXIV, the San Francisco 49ers downed Denver 55-10.
- The last time Tennessee failed to play on the day of the Super Bowl was Feb. 3, 2002, when the New England Patriots upset the St. Louis Rams, 20-17, in Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, La., for the first title in organization history. Prior to that the last occurrence of no Lady Vol game had been the day of Super Bowl XXVIII on Jan. 30, 1994, when Dallas downed Buffalo, 30-13.
- Arkansas is now 4-6 all-time on Super Bowl Sunday.
- On Super Bowl days during which the Lady Vols have played a game, the National Football Conference has won 10 times and the American Football Conference seven times. With a game at Thompson-Boling Arena on the day of the Super Bowl, the NFC has registered a 6-4 record. Following those results, tonight's smart pick in Super Bowl XL might just be the Seattle Seahawks of the NFC.
- UT has never played Arkansas on the day of the NFL's premier contest, but have played 15 games versus SEC teams going 14-1 all-time (Georgia: 2-1; Alabama: 4-0; Vanderbilt: 2-0; Mississippi: 2-0; Kentucky: 1-0; Auburn: 1-0; Mississippi State: 1-0; Arkansas: 1-0). Today marks the Orange & White's 18th match-up on the day of the Super Bowl.
- During the 2005-06 campaign, 65 points appears to be the magic mark as UT is 2-2 when scoring under that amount and 19-0 when scoring more than 65 points.
- Today's victory marks UT's 64th consecutive SEC home victory dating back to Dec. 8, 1996, a 94-93 (OT) loss to Georgia.
- Tennessee has now won 22 straight games in the friendly confines of Thompson-Boling Arena.
- UT is 115-5 since the beginning of the 1997-98 basketball season in Southeastern Conference regular-season contests.
- The 40-point loss is Arkansas's worst of the season just ahead of UA's 34-point defeat against LSU last Thursday. UA has lost its last two contests by an average of 37 ppg. With a crowd of 14,531 present for today's game, the total marks the seventh-most in the history of the Tennessee-Arkansas series. The all-time mark is 18,633 in Knoxville on Jan. 13, 2005. Six of the top eight games in the series have occurred at TBA.
- The Lady Vols improved their series record against Arkansas to 17-1, have won the last 12 match-ups and are a perfect 8-0 versus the Lady'Backs at TBA. Arkansas is now 5-3 this season following a loss.
- The Lady'Backs fall to 2-7 in road games this season and 2-7 when trailing at the half. Today's 77-37 defeat to Tennessee marks the Lady'Backs' first three-game losing streak of the 2005-06 campaign and first such skein since a four-game slide from Feb. 17-27, 2005.
- Arkansas is 7-2 this year when scoring at least 70 points in a game, 6-7 when scoring less than 70.
- Arkansas is 0-9 all-time against the nation's No. 5-ranked squad and just 1-49 against teams ranked in the nation's top five.
- The 37 points marked the fewest Arkansas has scored all season. The loss ties for seventh-worst in Arkansas history at 40 points alongside UA's 74-34 defeat to Louisiana Tech during the 1981-82 season.
- The Lady'Backs are now 2-2 this season when facing ranked squads and have lost consecutive games to ranked teams with a Feb. 2 defeat vs. No. 3 LSU (59-93) and today's loss at No. 5 Tennessee.
- With five steals, sophomore Alexis Hornbuckle has now posted at least one theft in 30 straight games and 51 out of 58 career contests. Her career high is six steals set earlier this year versus Princeton.
- With a first half three-pointer, senior Shanna Zolman has made at least one triple in 101 of 131 career games and in 22 of 23 contests this season.
- Zolman reached 20 points for the seventh time this season and double-figures for the 19th time in 23 games.
- With 18 points today, redshirt freshman Candace Parker has reached double-digits in 20 of UT's 23 games.
- Shanna Zolman has now moved into the 17th spot on the UT all-time scoring list at 1,494 points. During today's game the Syracuse, Ind., native passed Dena Head (1,485) and trails Daedra Charles (1,495) by just a single point for 16th.
- Today's game marked the third time this season that UT hit just one three-pointer in the first half. Tennessee is 2-1 in those contests with wins over Georgia and Arkansas and the loss at Duke.
- Tennessee went on a 31-3 run over the last 11:12 of the game while holding Arkansas without a field goal over the final 8:35.
