LINDBLOM NAMED SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Tennessee pitcher Josh Lindblom was named the SEC Freshman of the Week Monday following a superb outing against Morehead State last Friday. The right-hander from West Lafayette, Ind., posted a career-high 13 strikeouts during eight dominant innings on the mound. He allowed no runs on just one hit and issued one walk. Lindblom retired the first nine batters he faced and eventually sat down 24 of the 27 batters who dug in against him.

Behind Lindblom's stellar performance, the Vols downed the Eagles by a score of 9-0. With the win, Lindblom improved to 2-0 on the year. He boasts a 2.87 ERA and is the early SEC leader with 24 strikeouts (to just five walks).
