Coach Pearl on Lofton, his quick shot and needed improvements
Sophomore guard Chris Lofton was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season. In the two games, Lofton averaged 32.0 points on 16-of-22 shooting from 3-point range to go with 6.5 rebounds.
Lofton recorded a career-high 31 points on 7-of-10 shooting from 3-point range in leading the Vols to a 75-67 win at Kentucky. It is just UT's fourth win in 31 trips to play UK in Rupp Arena.
He then had his second career-high in as many games with 33 points at Georgia on 9-of-12 3-point shooting in leading UT to an 83-78 win. Lofton's nine 3-pointers at Georgia set a UT single-game record.
For the season, he is averaging 17.2 points per game to go along with 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
