THE GAME The #5-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols (19-2, 5-1 SEC) are back on the road briefly, before enjoying three consecutive games at home, and travel into dangerous territory at Ole Miss (12-8, 2-5 SEC) on Thursday, Feb. 2. THE 4-1-1 ON THE LADY REBELS In their last outing, the Ole Miss Lady Rebels (12-8, 2-5 SEC) opened their Sunday, Jan. 29 contest against #22-ranked Vanderbilt (14-7, 3-4 SEC) with a 8-0 run and led by four at the half, but did not get on track in the second half until after nearly six minutes had ticked off the clock and fell, 68-58, at Memorial Gym in Nashville. The Lady Rebels jumped on the `Dores early behind two threes by sophomore Lindsay Roy and two baskets by sophomore Jada Mincy. Vanderbilt closed the gap behind five points from Cherish Stringfield and three by Rachel Brockman. Ole Miss went down two, at 12-10, but then went on another 10-0 run to retake an eight-point lead with 7:10 remaining in the first period. In a game of runs, Ole Miss outscored the Commodores 10-6 in the remainder of the period to take a 30-24 half time lead. Vanderbilt exploded in the opening minutes of the second period going on a 12-1 run to take a 38-31 lead five minutes into the final half. Ole Miss cut the lead to three on several occasions over the next few minutes, but could not get any closer. Junior Armintie Price scored on a lay-up with 11:56 left to play, cutting the lead to 41-38 it was as close as the Lady Rebels would get the rest of the way. Mincy and Price led Ole Miss with 12 points a piece. Mincy pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Lady Rebels. Price played just 31 minutes due to foul trouble -- It was the first time in four games Price had missed a minute. OUR SCHEDULE THIS WEEK... SEC routine continues this week with a Thursday game in Oxford facing Ole Miss on Feb. 2 and then a Feb. 5 game at home facing a feisty Arkansas squad. LADY VOLS ON TV A record 21 Lady Vol regular season regional/national games are slated for television this season. UT is 12-2 on TV so far. SCHEDULE UPDATE The UT-Vandy game in Knoxville on Feb. 12 will be a 5:30 p.m. tip-off on ESPN2. ON THIS DAY Tennessee is 12-2-1 in their history when playing on Feb. 2. The Lady Vols are 8-1 at home, 4-1-1 on the road, and 0-0 on neutral courts. Last time out on the 2nd, the Lady Vols defeated Vanderbilt, 81-67, in Nashville in 2003. LOOKING BACK Last year at this time, the Lady Vols were 16-3 and had just defeated Georgia, 77-70, at home Jan. 31. LADY VOL HOOPSTER BREAKS NOSE AGAIN Jenny Moshak, University of Tennessee Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, announced on Jan. 30 that Lady Vol rookie basketball guard Lindsey Moss had suffered a displaced nasal fracture. "Lindsey is going to have surgery on Friday, Feb. 3," said Moshak. "The nasal fracture is displaced. Lindsey will be in a non-contact mode and will miss Thursday's game at Mississippi and Sunday's game against Arkansas. Following surgery, she will wear a nose splint." Moss suffered the injury in the Jan. 29 game against Alabama in the first half. The 6-1 guard collided with Alabama's Navonda Moore and had to be helped to the locker room. Moss had hit all three of her treys and scored a career high nine points in just six minutes of playing time before the injury. Earlier this month, Moss suffered a non-displaced nasal fracture against Mississippi State on Jan. 15. She is averaging 2.1 ppg and logs 6.7 minutes. CLOSING IN ON 20 WINS The Tennessee Lady Vols are closing in on yet another 20-win season. With its next victory, it will mark the 30th consecutive time a Lady Vol team reached at least 20 wins in a season under Coach Pat Summitt. Should the Lady Vols pick-up win #20 against Ole Miss on Feb. 2, it would mark the fourth fastest Summitt team to attain at least 20 wins. AND SUMMITT'S NON-20-WIN SEASONS? Tennessee's Pat Summitt has only had two teams fail to reach 20-win seasons during her 31-year tenure...In her first and second seasons (1974-75 and 1975-76) at UT, the Lady Vols were 16-8 and 16-11, respectively. CHECK OUT THESE TICKET NUMBERS! As of Feb. 1, the Tennessee Lady Vol ticket office announced that 19,307 tickets had been sold for the Feb. 9 game versus #3/4-ranked LSU and 15,415 ducats had been sold for the Feb. 12 game against #22/21-ranked Vanderbilt. Both contests are in Knoxville and will be televised on ESPN2. GAME REPORT 22 - MISSISSIPPI Ole Miss (12-8, 2-5 SEC) will be seeking their first SEC home victory of 2006 when the Lady Vols roll into Oxford. The Lady Rebs are 0-4 in SEC games at home and 2-1 on the road. Ole Miss has knocked off Auburn and Mississippi State on the road for their only Conference victories. UM is led on the season by junior guard Armintie Price with 17.0 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. Price exploded versus Mississippi State putting a rare 22-point, 20-rebound performance. She also added seven assists in the win for Ole Miss. TENNESSEE-MISSISSIPPI All-Time Series Meetings
UM SERIES TIDBITS This marks the 36th meeting between the two schools dating back to the 1976-77 season. The Lady Vols have won 12-consecutive and 20 of the last 22 meetings with the Lady Rebels. UT played its longest game ever with Ole Miss in 1983 as the two teams battled to a triple overtime in the NCAA Mideast Regional semifinals with UT winning 90-83. Tennessee leads the series with Mississippi, 28-7. TOUGH WINS IN K-TOWN In the all-time meetings, Mississippi has collected just two wins in Knoxville. Those victories came during the Van Chancellor years in 1984 and 1987 when the Lady Rebs held UT to just 65 points in each game (67-65 and 69-65, respectively). Ole Miss has never won a contest in Thompson-Boling Arena but came close in 1997 dropping a 74-72 decision. TIDBITS IN THE SERIES Tennessee has only had one player ever from the state of Mississippi - Pashen Thompson (1993-97) from Philadelphia, Miss. ... Dubbed the "Philly Pflash" by former Lady Vol Assoc. Head Coach Mickie DeMoss. AVERAGE SCORE The average score in Tennessee's current 12-game winning streak over Ole Miss is 88.5 (UT) and 56.7 (UM). A +31.8 advantage per game for the Lady Vols. LADY VOLS VS. LADY REBELS STAT COMPARISON
OUR LAST MEETING VERSUS MISSISSIPPI The fifth-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols equaled a program record by connecting on 13 three-pointers and scored 64 second-half points to cruise to a 99-67 victory against Mississippi at Thompson-Boling Arena on Feb. 6, 2005. With the triumph, UT extended its SEC home court winning streak to 58 games and its regular season conference run to 42 contests. Additionally, the Big Orange pushed its overall winning streak to 10 games. It was Tennessee that jumped out to the early lead, as it quickly went ahead 9-0 following a three-pointer by Shyra Ely and forced Ole Miss to call a timeout just 2:32 into the match-up. With the Rebels unable to close the margin to closer than five points during the next 10 minutes, the Lady Vols appeared to break the game open with a 9-0 spurt to push the advantage to 33-17 with 5:27 remaining in the opening half. However, Mississippi closed the opening stanza on an 11-2 run to trail by just seven, 35-28, as the teams headed to the locker room. In the first half, the teams combined to commit 33 turnovers. After Ole Miss narrowed the gap to just five points early in the second frame, UT responded with a 9-0 run to comfortably lead by 14 points, 44-30. While the Rebels managed to cut the lead to single digits following a layin by Armintie Price with just less than 15 minutes to play, the Lady Vols answered with a 15-3 run to put the game out of reach. Tennessee would go ahead by as many as 37 points before sealing the 32-point win. On the night, UT shot 48.6 percent from the field while holding Mississippi to just 41 percent shooting. Additionally, the Orange and White connected on 48.1 percent of their school-record 27 attempts beyond the arc. Individually, the Lady Vols had five players in double figures: Shanna Zolman (21), Ely (19), Brittany Jackson (16), Nicky Anosike (11) and Dominique Redding (11). UT AND MISSISSIPPI RANKED MEETINGS IN 2005-06 The Lady Vols game against #2 Duke marked Tennessee's 10th game versus a ranked team this season. UT is 9-1 when facing the nation's best teams. Meanwhile Mississippi will be meeting its fifth ranked opponent in #5/5 Tennessee. UT defeated #9 Michigan State, #10 Maryland, #16/18 Texas, #12/11 Stanford, #22/21 Temple, #12/11 Notre Dame, #7 Connecticut, #13/17 Georgia and #19 Vanderbilt. UT lost to #2 Duke. Mississippi is 2-2 against ranked teams this season defeating then-#14/16 ranked Texas Tech, #7/7 Rutgers but losing to then #17/18-ranked Georgia and #22/22 Vanderbilt. LAST TIME IN OXFORD After trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half, the #3-ranked Tennessee rallied back for an 85-69 victory against Ole Miss at Tad Smith Coliseum on Feb. 22, 2004. With the triumph, UT claimed its seventh-consecutive regular season SEC title. Neither team was able to take control of the game early, as the Lady Vols clung to a one-point lead, 13-12, with 13:20 remaining in the half. UM found a spark minutes later, however, and rattled off six straight points to go ahead by five, 18-13. After the Lady Vols narrowed the margin to just two points following a layup by junior Shyra Ely, Ole Miss answered with a 14-4 run to take a commanding 33-21 advantage. UT responded, though, and cut the lead in half by the break, trailing 43-37. In the opening stanza, Ole Miss shot a blistering 68 percent from the floor, while UT connected on just 41 percent. Despite the shooting disparity, the Lady Vols dominated the glass, 20-13, and snared 13 offensive rebounds. After the intermission, the Lady Vols struck first as sophomore Shanna Zolman sunk a 3-pointer. Unable to draw closer during next six minutes, UT found itself behind by four, 50-46, with 13:36 to play before it erupted on an impressive 24-2 run. UM was unable to get closer than 13 points the rest of the way, and the Big Orange held on for the 16-point win. The Lady Vols were led by Ely and Zolman, who each recorded a team-high 21 points, while senior Tasha Butts and freshman Sidney Spencer totaled 13 apiece. Ely also snared a game-high 10 rebounds to earn her eighth double-double this season. Ole Miss was paced by freshman Armintie Price, who totaled a game-high 32 points. On the night, UT was out-shot shot 44.3 percent compared to Ole Miss' 45.5 percent mark. UT was extremely efficient at the free throw line, though, hitting 18-of-19 attempts. The Lady Vols also controlled the boards, 41-31, and committed just 12 turnovers. LAST LOSS TO AN UNRANKED TEAM? Before unranked Kentucky turned the trick with a 66-63 win over #1/3-ranked Tennessee on Jan. 26, 2006 at Rupp Arena, it had been four years since an unranked team upset the Lady Vols. So before Kentucky, when was the last time Tennessee lost to an unranked team? That would have been to LSU on Mar. 2, 2002 at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. LSU had been in and out of the Top 25 polls in late January and February. Prior to that, UT's last loss to an unranked team was five years previous (to the day) losing to Auburn on Mar. 2, 1997 at the SEC Tournament. SUMMITT COLLECTS 900TH Lady Vol Coach Pat Summitt picked up her 900th collegiate coaching win on Jan. 19 with a come-from-behind victory over #19-ranked Vanderbilt, 80-68, in Nashville, Tenn, In addition, she collected wins #100, 400, 700 and 800 on the first attempt. It hardly seems possible that it has been three years and five days since collected her 800th career victory on January 14, 2003 - an anxious and anticipatory 76-57 win over #25/24 DePaul at home. That set of 100 wins (700-800) took three years and 38 days. ON THE RADAR SCREEN - ARKANSAS The Arkansas Lady'Backs (13-7, 5-2 SEC) are at home on Feb. 2 and will take on a hot #3/4-ranked LSU team. In their last contest, Arkansas' luck in the final minute of SEC games ran out at the Colonial Center as South Carolina hung on for a 61-52 win on Jan. 29. The Gamecocks (11-8) picked up their second league win. Leslie Howard led Arkansas with 13 points followed by a season-high 12 from Danielle Allen. Carolina exploited its interior power for a 46-16 scoring advantage in the paint. Arkansas battled to gain the lead in the second half, cutting USC's four-point halftime spread to one twice, but timely Gamecock buckets prevented the Lady'Backs from going ahead. As Arkansas' leading scorers in SEC games were shuttered by USC, Allen and Bush stepped up to provide clutch baskets. Bush created back-to-back scoring opportunities to bring Arkansas back within two, 49-47, with 4:39 left. The senior hit two free throws, then picked Stacy Booker's pocket for a breakaway layup. Unfortunately, USC responded with back-to-back lay-ups to put the Gamecocks back in control, 53-47. Carolina jumped out to a quick lead, but Arkansas used a 7-2 run finished by a driving layup from Danielle Allen put the Lady'Backs up, 7-6. The teams traded leads until USC launched a 13-0 run paced by five points from Johnson to build a 10-point spread, 21-11, with seven minutes left in the first half.. The lead for USC came as a result of scoring drought of almost five minutes by Arkansas. A pair of free throws from Rochelle Vaughn snapped the slump with 6:38 in the half, but USC maintained its lead going into halftime, 29-25. Allen scored eight first half points to lead Arkansas, which was more points than the six points the former starting forward had in her previous three games played this season combined. Poor shooting, particularly from behind the arc, kept Arkansas in the hole. Hitting only 38.5% overall and 16.7% for threes, the Lady'Backs had their worst half of three-point shooting in SEC play with only one made and six attempts. LOOKING FOR AND FINDING SOLUTIONS Coach Pat Summitt and her staff came away from the 89-54 win over Alabama on Jan. 29 feeling a little bit better about the play of the fifth-ranked Lady Vols. The team shot smart (57.4%), limited turnovers to just 12 while forcing 23 Tide miscues and claimed 11 steals. Rebounding continued to be a source of concern as Tennessee only outrebounded Alabama, 34-29. Last week, then top-ranked UT came away from the thrashing at Duke (Jan. 23) and the upset loss at Kentucky (Jan. 26) with a bunch of questions to be answered. As far as the questions to be answered department, a remedy is being sought for soft defense and shoddy board play. Coach Pat Summitt had been concerned since the Connecticut and Georgia games that her Lady Vol team had been "living on the edge defensively." Against Vanderbilt, UT was down by 14 points in the first half due to not defending the 3-ball and a lack of passion on the boards. The Lady Vols still managed to win those key games (often in spite of themselves) but were "exposed" against Duke and ran into a buzz-saw at Kentucky. It comes as no surprise that defense and rebounding, Summitt staples for 32 years, will continue to be points of emphasis for the 2005-06 team. In fact at last Friday's practice, former Lady Vols Shelley Sexton Collier and Melissa McCray Dukes talked to the squad about the pride it takes to play Lady Vols defense and how a lack of effort in rebounding is not acceptable. DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT HAS BEEN 3,340 DAYS Georgia was the last to do it. Happened 3,340 days ago. Really! 3,340 days...Almost 10 years. The Tennessee Lady Vols have rattled off 63 consecutive SEC home wins in Thompson-Boling Arena since Dec. 8, 1996, when Georgia was the last team to hang an SEC home loss on the Lady Vols. The Lady Bulldogs prevailed 94-93 in overtime and the 62-game win streak began with a "w" over Kentucky, 84-61, on Jan. 12, 1997, in the very next home SEC game. LADY VOLS DROP BELOW 80.0 PPG AND 40.0 RPG The Tennessee Lady Vols had been enjoying a mid-80's average in point production and a 25-plus scoring margin until the last two weeks. The Lady Vols are currently averaging 79.8 ppg and hanging on to a +20.2 scoring margin. Currently at 38.8 rebounds per game, this is the worst rebounding team in Lady Vol history inching below the 1977-78 squad who managed just 39.7 rpg in 31 contests. IT WAS THE SECOND BEST START TO A SEASON Stopped at 18-consecutive victories with the lost to Duke, the Lady Vols 18-0 run to start the 2005-06 campaign is the second-best all-time to open the season at Tennessee. Of the 13 perfect starts to a Lady Vol season (of at least 7 wins), the run was stopped with a loss to a BIG EAST team on four occasions (UConn three times and Rutgers once) and an SEC team (Auburn) once. Now add Duke from the ACC to that group of streak stoppers. QUICK HITTERS

LADY VOL STARTER/BENCH SCORING & REBOUNDING In 21 games, UT starters have outscored opponent starters in 17 games and opponent rebounders 14 times. The UT bench has outscored the opponents 12 times and outrebounded them 12 times. DROPPED TO #5 IN BOTH POLLS As anticipated after the loss to #2 Duke and to unranked Kentucky, the Lady Vols dropped to number five in both polls on Jan. 30 and Jan. 31. The Tennessee Lady Vols remained in the No.1 spot in the Associated Press poll on Jan. 23 - in voting held before UT's loss to #2 Duke. The poll of Dec. 26 marked the 100th time in Head Coach Pat Summitt's career that the Lady Vols were ranked number one. In the Dec. 5 AP poll, the Lady Vols were voted #1. It marked the first time since the second poll of the 2004-05 season that Tennessee has held the top spot in women's college hoops. The AP poll, now in its 30th year, celebrated poll number 500 in the first week of this season. Tennessee is on a run of 369 consecutive appearances in the poll. The 13th week of the 1984-85 season marked the last time a Summitt squad was not ranked. The Lady Vols have been unranked only 14 times in 509 polls. Summitt has guided the program to a poll-best 370 top-five appearances. Louisiana Tech, with 279 weeks in the top-five, ranks second. In the Nov. 28 poll, Duke led by seven points even though Tennessee had a 22-21 edge in first-place votes. THE ESPN/USA TODAY POLLING PLACE In the first USA TODAY/ESPN poll of the year on Nov. 1, the Lady Vols began the 2005-06 season as the number one ranked team in the country. It marks the 25th time in 30 years that UT has started the season in the top five in the nation. With the loss to Duke, Tennessee dropped to #3 and dropped again to #5 after losing to unranked Kentucky. 497 GAMES VERSUS RANKED TEAMS Tennessee's game versus #2 Duke on Jan. 23, 2006 was the Lady Vols' 497th all-time versus a ranked team since the inception of the polls in 1976. UT is an amazing 354-143 (.703) versus ranked teams. This year, Tennessee is 9-1 versus ranked teams. In 2004-05, the Lady Vols were 10-5 vs. ranked teams. UT'S RANKED RECORD WHEN #1 The Lady Vols have played 92 ranked opponents while they were the nation's number one ranked team. UT holds a 71-21 advantage in those games. SEC STANDINGS
SEC TWOSIES The SEC plays a 14-game regular season schedule with each team playing everyone in the league once, a natural rival twice and designated rotating teams from the SEC East and West once extra time. The Lady Vols face Vanderbilt twice each season as its natural rivals and this year faces Georgia and Alabama twice. AGAINST THE SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE Tennessee owns a 355-55 record all-time record vs. 12 teams from the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Vols maintain a winning record against every team in the SEC. UT IS AMAZING AT HOME VERSUS THE SEC Since Tennessee began contesting games with Southeastern Conference opponents, the Lady Vols have produced a 147-9 record in all games played at home. Only four SEC teams have ever managed a victory over the Lady Vols in Knoxville - Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss. Georgia has won three games on UT's turf while Auburn, Kentucky and Ole Miss have registered two wins each. Georgia is the only team to defeat UT at home in the 1990s - the Lady Bulldogs turned the trick in 1991 and 1996. No SEC team has defeated UT at home in the 21st century. WOW--12 SEASONS OF AT LEAST 10 SEC VICTORIES In the win over South Carolina on Feb. 17, 2005, Tennessee claimed its 10th SEC victory of the year. The Lady Vols have now registered double-digit victories in conference play an incredible 12 times. Since the 1991-92 season when SEC play expanded, the Lady Vols have won at least 10 games in the following years: 1992-10 games, 1993-11 games, 1994-11 games, 1995-11 games, 1998-14 games, 1999-13 games, 2000-13 games, 2001- 14 games, 2002- 13 games, 2003- 14 games, 2004-14 games and 2005- 13 games. SNAPPED AT 42 -- CONSECUTIVE SEC WINS With the loss to LSU on Feb. 10, 2005, the Lady Vols 42-game consecutive regular season SEC win streak was halted. Until the loss to LSU, the Lady Vols had not lost an SEC regular season game since at Vanderbilt on Feb. 2, 2002, 76-59. 63 CONSECUTIVE SEC HOME WINS With the victory over Alabama on Jan. 29, 2006, the Lady Vols have won 63 consecutive SEC home games. The last SEC loss at home was to Georgia on Dec. 8, 1996, 94-93 (OT). SEC LEAGUE PLAY UT owns a league best record of 233-31 against all SEC teams dating back to 1983. THIS IS AMAZING From 1980-1997, the Lady Vols claimed a total of six SEC regular season titles in 17 years. From 1998-2004, Tennessee captured seven consecutive SEC regular season crowns producing an amazing 109-4 record. UT's only league losses were to Vandy, Georgia and LSU (twice) during this stretch. LADY VOL STREAKS The last time the Lady Vols lost at home was against Duke, 59-57 on Dec. 2, 2004 -- since then, UT has won 21 home games. The last time UT lost on the road was on Jan. 26, 2006 at Kentucky, since then, UT has not played another road game. The last time the Lady Vols lost on a neutral court was against Michigan State, 64-68, in the NCAA semifinal game on April 3, 2005 Since then, UT has won three games on a neutral court. 100 POINT GAMES Since 1974, the Lady Vols have gone over the century mark 71 times. This season, UT has eclipsed 100 points in two games - Princeton 107 and #16/18 Texas, 102. Noteworthy: Tennessee went over 100 points in an NCAA playoff game for the first time ever in 1993-94 with the win over North Carolina A&T, 111-37. The 1987-88 team hit triple digits in seven games leading the NCAA. IN OVERTIME The Lady Vols are 24-12 all-time in overtime games. The most OT games in a year was tied in 2003-04 with four as the Lady Vols went 3-1 in overtime losing to Georgia, 68-66, and defeating Auburn, 68-61, DePaul, 96-89, and Stanford, 70-66. It tied the mark set in 1996-97, when the Lady Vols were 3-1 in overtime contests losing to Georgia, 94-93, and defeating Texas, 68-65, Vanderbilt, 92-79 and LSU, 100-99. UT's 22 points in the OT against Florida (2-3-05), was the most ever scored by the Lady Vols in a single overtime. AN OT STORY Before the Lady Vols piled up four overtime games in the 2003-04 season, OT contests were few and far-in-between. The Jan. 4, 2003, overtime contest with Connecticut, was the first time Tennessee was involved in an extra stanza game since the 1996-97 season when the Lady Vols played a then-record four overtime affairs. DEMOSS JOINS PECK The roll call goes like this: Sylvia Hatchell, Sharon Fanning, Jane Albright, Lea Henry, Nancy Darsch, Trish Roberts, and Mickie DeMoss. etc., UT coach Pat Summitt has faced many former players and assistant coaches in a variety of games thru the years but Mickie DeMoss of Kentucky and Carolyn Peck at Florida, are the only two to record a victory over their former boss. While at Purdue, Peck handed Summitt a 78-68 loss on Nov.15, 1998 in the State Farm Tip-Off Classic in West Lafayette, Ind. The defeat snapped UT's 46-game consecutive winning streak (that was second only to Louisiana Tech's all-time 54-game winning streak). DeMoss, a Summitt assistant for 18 years, turned the trick in Lexington on Jan. 26, 2006, with a 66-63 victory over then #1/3 Tennessee in Rupp Arena. ALL TV, ALL THE TIME There's no excuse not to catch the Lady Vols over the next eight games. Only one contest will not be televised at Ole Miss (Feb. 2). All remaining games will be televised. 100TH NUMBER ONE RANKING The Associated Press poll of Dec. 26, 2005, marked the 100th #1 ranking all-time for the Lady Vols. UT has produced a 71-21 record when ranked number-one. When ranked #1, the Lady Vols are 33-17 against the top 10 teams and 38-4 against teams ranked in the 11-25 spots in the AP poll. JANUARY SUCCESS The Lady Vols have enjoyed a great deal of success in the month of January over the years. UT has produced a 252-47 all-time record during the first month of the year. The Lady Vols are 135-12 at home, 113-33 away and 5-2 at neutral sites. HIT OVER 100,000 AGAINST GEORGIA With a good crowd (13,772) against #13/17 Georgia on Jan. 12, the Lady Vols went over the 100,000 fan mark at home. To date, 113,361 fans have been counted in eight Lady Vol home games. This marks the 12th consecutive time UT has hit at least 100,000 fans per season at home dating back to 1994-95. NO KIDDING, LET'S GO SEE THE CIRCUS Lady Vol basketball has that "circus charm" to it again this season. Every road team---George Washington, Stanford, Temple, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Duke and Kentucky (UT's nine road games) have posted new attendance records or season high attendance records. The coffers have fared well - ticket prices when UT came to town almost doubled the price of a normal ducat at many venues. Duke and Notre Dame announced advance sell-outs weeks before the game. A normal ticket at Vanderbilt for women's hoops is $10.50 for anyone but Tennessee - the Commodores charged $20.50 to see the Lady Vols play. Most recently, Kentucky drew a record crowd of 13,689 at Rupp Arena when they defeated the Lady Vols, 66-63.
