VOLS BASEBALL TEAM RANKED 18TH IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL PRESEASON POLL

The Tennessee baseball team earned a preseason national ranking of No. 18 from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The publication released it preseason top 40 Friday, and UT was one of eight Southeastern Conference teams to make the list. The Volunteers return 10 lettermen from last season, including 2007 National Player of the Year candidate J.P. Arencibia.
Tennessee opens the 2007 season with a three-game series at Florida State Feb. 2-4. The Seminoles landed at No. 13 in the Collegiate Baseball poll.
The Vols were the fourth-highest ranked SEC team in the preseason listing. All 12 SEC teams received votes.
The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll, dating to the 1957 season.
