TENNESSEE BASKETBALL HONORS VETERANS DAY WITH SPECIAL NIGHT

The University of Tennessee Men's Basketball Team will pay tribute to America's Soldiers at tonight's season opener versus Middle Tennessee State University. In honor of Veteran's Day, UT will honor all service men and women with a special salute during both pre-game and halftime festivities.
During pre-game, Staff Sergeant Joe Wilson of the Tennessee Army National Guard will perform the National Anthem. Then, after team introductions, Master Sergeant Mark Dodson and Staff Sergeant Steve Thompson from the Tennessee National Guard CounterDrug Division will rappel from the Thompson-Boling Arena rafters and deliver the game ball. They will stop in mid-air and give a special salute to those soldiers and military personnel in attendance. Rappel team members include:
