Two storied Vols will return to the sidelines for an up-close look at one of the South's most storied rivalries.
The pair of standout tailbacks will be back at Rocky Top as the Vols take on Alabama for the 89th time in a series that has always placed a premium on the running game.
Richmond Flowers and Haskel Stanback will be honored as Legends of Tennessee on Saturday as UT plays host to the Crimson Tide at 3:30 p.m. (TV: CBS).
Richmond Flowers, WB/TB (1965-69)
The Vols pried an Alabama native away from the Crimson Tide, and Flowers left his mark in the state of Tennessee.
Flowers earned All-America honors in 1967 as a wingback, leading the Vols with 41 catches for 585 yards and four touchdowns en route to SEC and national championships. The versatile athlete was counted on more as a rusher during his senior campaign, carrying 111 times for 375 yards and seven touchdowns as the Vols finished 8-2-1, including a 10-9 win over Alabama in Knoxville.
Flowers was also a standout for the track team, earning four All-America honors, six SEC titles and an NCAA title in the 60-yard high hurdles in 1968.
Following his senior campaign, Flowers was drafted as a safety in the second round by the Dallas Cowboys. He also played with the New York Giants during his four-year NFL career before playing two seasons with the Shreveport Steamers in the WFL.

Haskel Stanback, TB (1971-73)
One of the most productive backs in school history, Stanback carried the load for UT teams that won 28 games and claimed Liberty Bowl and Astro Bluebonnet Bowl victories with him in the backfield.
The Kannapolis, N.C., native, finished with 1,730 yards during a career that was slowed slightly by injuries, and his 890 rushing yards as a junior broke a school record that had stood for 21 years and would stand as the top total for the Vols until 1983.
Stanback also tallied 13 touchdowns during his junior campaign, and he added seven more as a senior to rank among the most prolific scorers in UT history. He played in the 1974 Liberty Bowl before being tabbed in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by Cincinnati. Stanback went on to play five years with the Atlanta Falcons, rushing for 2,662 yards to rank among the top-10 all-time leading rushers for the franchise.
