LOFTON NAMED SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sophomore guard Chris Lofton was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after scoring a season-high 29 points in leading the Vols to an 80-76 win over second-ranked Florida. It is the second time he has been honored this season.
He also picked off a Corey Brewer pass on a two-on-one fast break and found Dane Bradshaw at the other end of the floor to give Tennessee a 78-76 lead with 20 seconds left.
Lofton scored half (18) of Tennessee's 36 first half points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field against the Gators. He also sealed the game with two free throws with six seconds left.
The Maysville, Ky., native scored 16 points and had three steals against fourth-ranked Memphis.
On the season, Lofton is averaging 16.5 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
