The University of Tennessee Athletics Department announced Wednesday efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The events will be held in conjunction with the American Red Cross.
Saturday, fans attending the UT football game will have the opportunity to drop off a donation for the Red Cross' efforts at Circle Park from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers from the Red Cross also will be outside key gate locations at Neyland Stadium from the fourth quarter until after the game to take donations.
Fans should give money only to volunteers wearing apparel that identifies them with the Red Cross.
Monday, the football team will hold the second annual "OrangeAid." For a donation to the American Red Cross, fans will have the opportunity to get autographs from select players and coaches at West Town Mall from 6- 7 p.m. The team also will be selling t-shirts with the inscription, "One Heartbeat," for $15 at the mall.
All proceeds go to Red Cross relief efforts.
Last year, the team sponsored the first "OrangeAid" with head coach Phillip Fulmer and 23 players at West Town Mall. The event raised more than $870 for the American Red Cross' hurricane relief efforts.
HAMILTON COMMENT ON UT-LSU GAME

FULMER LIKES VOLS' GAMEPLAN FOR UAB
Tennessee practiced for just more than 90 minutes Wednesday at Haslam Field as tune-ups continued for Saturday's season opener against UAB.
"Today was screens, draws and drop-back passes," Fulmer said. "We're a little bit ahead that way so we went a little bit shorter today and in shorts and shoulder pads, just to make sure we come of this thing healthy.
"I think we've got a good plan on both sides and we're getting ourselves ready to play."
Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. Eastern time on Jefferson Pilot Sports.

FRESHMAN McCOY OUT FOR SEASON AFTER SURGERY
Tennessee linebacker Rico McCoy underwent left foot surgery Wednesday at UT Medical Center and will miss the entire football season, head athletic trainer Keith Clements reported.
Drs. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher handled the procedure to repair a LisFranc foot sprain. Clements expects McCoy to make a full recovery for the 2006 season.
"Surgery went as expected and we are very optimistic for a complete return next season," Clements said. "He will be discharged Thursday morning."
McCoy, a 6-2, 210-pound true freshman from Washington, D.C., sustained his injury during preseason drills. He was attempting to become Tennessee's first football letter-winner from the District of Columbia since 1957.
