Tennessee's final two-a-day practice certainly differed from the normal grind most teams see at this point in the August preseason.
The Vols welcomed ESPN's cameras to their morning workout Wednesday at Haslam Field, the result being a one-hour program that aired later in the day on the sports network's main channel.
"I think it's great," head coach Phillip Fulmer said. "You've got a national stage there that you're trying to use. It will end up being really good for us.
"Everybody's going to watch and it's going to show up a number of times. There are not a lot of secrets in college football anymore after you get all the tapes and you study everybody."
The Vols' final two-a-day session saw full pads in the morning and Vol gear in the afternoon. Both practices took place at Haslam Field, the team's first appearance at their normal practice location after two tough weeks in the Lindsey Nelson Stadium outfield.
"It was good work," Fulmer said. "With the rules and all you just don't have many two-a-days anymore and so this was good. The kids pushed through."
Later airings of Wednesday's practice session on ESPNU are (all times Eastern): Thursday at 8 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.; Friday at 1:30 a.m., 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Wednesday at midnight and Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.
