Noting Tennessee
- Tennessee falls to 4-6 (2-5 SEC), and Vanderbilt finishes the season 5-6 (3-5 SEC).
- The Vols entered the game unranked. The Commodores were not ranked.
- UT is now 76-7 (.915) during the month of November since 1985 and is 44-4 at home during that span.
- Tennessee travels to Lexington, Ky., next week to face Kentucky at Commonwealth Stadium (12:30 p.m. ET, Jefferson Pilot).
- Tennessee leads the series 67-27-5 dating to 1892.
- Vanderbilt snapped UT's 22-game winning streak in the series, which was the second-longest active winning streak over a major opponent in NCAA Division I-A.
- Vanderbilt's last win in the series came in 1982 when it beat Tennessee 28-21 in Nashville.
- Six of the last 11 meetings have been decided by seven points or less.
- UT coach Phillip Fulmer was an assistant coach at Vanderbilt in 1979.

- TB Arian Foster had 40 carries for 223 rushing yards and two touchdowns, with 102 of his yards coming in the first quarter.
- Foster's 40 rushing attempts are the most since Travis Stephens carried 41 times for 206 yards at Arkansas Sept. 8, 2001.
- His 223 rushing yards are the most by a UT back since Travis Stephens had 226 against Florida in 2001. It was the 10th-best performance in school history. He is the 11th UT athlete to record a 200-yard rushing performance.
- Foster has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of his first four starts, the first freshman to do so since Chuck Webb in 1989 (five consecutive starts).
- The last UT tailback to have four straight 100-yard rushing games was Cedric Houston in 2002.
- Foster's 66-yard run in the first quarter was the longest play by the Vols this season and the longest since Gerald Riggs had an 80-yard gain in last year's SEC Championship Game against Auburn.
- Foster finished with 268 all-purpose yards, tying him for the third-highest performance total in UT history.
- Tennessee is now 17-1 when a player rushes for more than 200 yards.
- Tennessee's scoring drive just before halftime lasted 16 plays, went 70 yards and took 7:26.
- The drive was UT's longest of the season in terms of plays (16) and time consumed (7:26).
- WR Chris Hannon's 5-yard touchdown catch was his 11th-career score but his first since catching a 3-yarder vs. UAB.
- Hannon's 11 career touchdowns leads all active UT players.
- WR Jayson Swain topped the 1,000-yard mark for his career. His 50 yards today brings his total to 1,010 receiving yards.
- The Vols defense has not allowed an opposing tailback to rush for more than 100 yards this season.

- With PK James Wilhoit's 29-yard field goal, he has made six straight and nine of the last 10. The Vols have made their last 14 field-goal attempts against Vanderbilt, dating to the 1997 season.
- Tennessee finished with 251 rushing yards today, topping the 200-yard mark as a team for the first time this season.
- UT will not go to a bowl game this year for the first time since 1988, snapping a 16-season streak for the Vols, the third-longest in the nation.
- This season is the first time under Fulmer the Vols will not have a winning record in SEC play.
- UT honored 27 seniors during a pregame ceremony, with each making a solo run through the "T."
- UT retired former All-America tackle Doug Atkins (1950-52) during a pregame ceremony by retiring his No. 91. He joins Reggie White and Peyton Manning to have their numbers retired this season.
