Noting Tennessee
- Tennessee falls to 3-2 (2-2 SEC), and Georgia improves to 5-0 (3-0 SEC).
- The Vols entered the game ranked No. 8 by the Associated Press and No. 7 by USA Today. Georgia was ranked No. 5 by the AP and No. 4 by USA Today.
- Tennessee is off next week and returns to action Saturday, Oct. 22 vs. Alabama at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
- Tennessee leads the series 18-15-2 dating to 1899 and is 9-8-1 in Knoxville.
- Georgia last beat the Vols in Knoxville in 2003 by a score of 41-14.
- This was the fifth consecutive game and eighth in the last nine meetings that both schools entered the game ranked.
- Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer's record is now 126-33 (.792) in 14 seasons with the Vols.
- Fulmer is now 9-5 vs. Georgia and 1-4 against Georgia coach Mark Richt
- QB Rick Clausen finished with a career-high 310 yards. He was 21-of-36 with a touchdown and an interception.

- WR Bret Smith had a career-high 85 yards on four catches. Three of his catches were for 20 yards or more.
- WR Jayson Swain had a season-high 65 yards on four catches.
- WR Robert Meachem is the only UT player to have multiple catches in each game this season. He finished with four catches today for 49 yards and a touchdown.
- TB Gerald Riggs Jr. caught two 13-yard passes for a career-high 26 yards receiving. He has nine catches this season.
- DB Jonathan Wade's 34-yard interception return to the Georgia 1 was his second-career pick. His first-career interception came against Ole Miss when he returned a 19-yard pick for a touchdown.
- Wade's interception return was UT's longest this season and the longest interception return since Ryan Karl ran back a 36-yarder Jan. 1 against Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.
- DT Jesse Mahelona had his first-career forced fumble.
- DB Inquoris Johnson got his first-career fumble recovery, returning it 10 yards to the 27.
- Three Vols collected 10 or more tackles: DB Jonathan Hefney (career-high 14), LB Kevin Simon (season-high 15), LB Omar Gaither (10).
- Tennessee's secondary has allowed just one passing touchdown this season, a 27-yard TD vs. UAB.

- Georgia's Thomas Flowers' 54-yard touchdown punt return was the first time a UT opponent returned a punt for a score since Oct. 6, 2001, when Georgia's Damien Gary ran one back 72 yards.
- WR Lucas Taylor's 26-yard kickoff return to open the third quarter was the longest of his career.
- Today marked the third time in the past four games UT faced a top-10 opponent. The last time UT faced three top-10 teams in four weeks was the beginning of the 1985 season.
