Vol Network's Latest Classics DVD Release

Vol Network Home Entertainment is proud to announce that its latest DVD release for this fall and the second title in its "Classics" line of products has arrived in JCPenney stores across the state of Tennessee . "Tennessee Football Classics: Vols vs. Irish" features two of the most famous Volunteer gridiron victories of all-time.
Tennessee and Notre Dame, two of college football's winningest and most storied programs, have staged several memorable battles in their short series history. Two games in the series, however, contests 1979 and 1991 standout as hallmark Big Orange victories. Both games were commemorated originally as Vol Network home videos and in celebration of the resumption of the Vols-Irish series this fall have been combined and released on DVD.
"Miracle at South Bend" is the miraculous story of the greatest comeback in Tennessee football history. The Vols 1991 meeting at South Bend has become the stuff of legend. Tailing 31-7 in the second quarter versus the No. 5 Irish, Tennessee was on the verge of getting blown out of Notre Dame Stadium. A blocked field goal return for a touchdown, however, ignited a furious and miraculous comeback that wasn't decided until the final tick of the clock. Notre Dame's last second field goal was partially blocked as UT emerged a dramatic 35-34 victor.
Notre Dame's first visit to Neyland Stadium on November 10, 1979 was a much-anticipated event. The Irish, ranked 13th in the country came in as solid favorites over the unranked and unheralded Volunteers. A fired-up Tennessee team, however, ambushed Notre Dame 40-18. The Vol defense made a key fourth down, goal line stop and proceeded to throttle the Irish offense, while the UT offense exploded on the ground. The game was the subject of the very first Vol Network home video and was the first victory over a ranked opponent of the Johnny Majors era at Tennessee.
In addition to the two main features, the collector's edition DVD is stocked full of exclusive bonus material surrounding the Tennessee-Notre Dame series. Tennessee fans will enjoy over three and a half hours of Big Orange entertainment including:
