The University of Tennessee-Chevrolet Living Legends honored on the field before Saturday night's game against Auburn at Neyland Stadium are defensive back Chris White and running back Reggie Cobb, both from the 1980s.
Chris White came to Knoxville from Cleveland, Tennessee, and made his mark in the 1985 season when he intercepted nine passes and led the NCAA that season with 168 return yards. He had an interception that set up the Vols' final score in the 35-7 win over Miami in the 1986 Sugar Bowl.
He also had an interception return for a score that season against Rutgers and had three in the season opener against UCLA. He is one of seven Vols to intercept three passes in one game.
He was an All-America and All-SEC selection in 1985.
A native of Knoxville who attended Central High School, Reggie Cobb ran for 138 yards against Iowa in his debut as a Vol.
Cobb scored 17 touchdowns in 1987, 26 for his career, and led the 1987 and 1988 teams in rushing. He had the winning score in a 27-22 win over Indiana in the 1988 Peach Bowl.
He was a member of the 100 Years of Volunteers All-Time team selected in 1990 and was named the team's outstanding back in 1987. He had nine games with more than 100 yards, with a career-high 225 against Auburn in 1989.
White lives in Ocoee in Polk County and operates Horn's Creek Resort, while Cobb lives in Sugarland, Texas, and is a scout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
