Tennessee's men's tennis team held steady at No. 18 in this week's updated Intercollegiate Tennis Association national team rankings. The Volunteers (13-8, 6-5 SEC) placed two singles players and one doubles team in the updated individual rankings.
After winning last weekend's Big 10 Conference tournament, Illinois remained as the nation's top-ranked team. Baylor, UCLA, Southern California, Ole Miss, Duke, Georgia, Florida, Stanford and Virginia round out the top 10, respectively.
The Southeastern Conference was again the only league in the country to place all of its teams in the national top 40. The SEC and Pac-10 each placed three squads in the top 10.
Vols senior Simon Rea moved up one spot to No. 34 in the ITA singles rankings, while fellow senior Wade Orr slid three places to No. 116 in the country.
In the doubles poll, the All-SEC tandem of Rea and junior Damien Spizzo improved three spots to No. 9. The pair owns an overall doubles record of 10-4 this season, including a 6-1 mark against ranked teams.
Tennessee continues to prepare for the NCAA regionals, which take place May 14-16. Regional sites are to be announced Wednesday.
