LISA GLENN NAMED SOUTH REGION COACH OF THE YEAR

Tennessee Lady Vol Head Rowing Coach Lisa Glenn has been named the South Region Coach of the Year by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. The honor marks the second consecutive season in which Glenn has earned the award.
Glenn, in her sixth season at the helm of the program, has led this year's team to unprecedented success. Highlighting the squad's long list of accomplishments are those of the varsity eight crew, which currently ranks 10th in the USRowing/CRCA Poll and recently earned its second straight invitation to the NCAA Championships. En route to garnering the highest ranking in program history, UT's top boat finished fourth in the Grand Final at the Lexus Sprints and helped the team place second overall in the South Region. During the fall, Coach Glenn's troops had another impressive showing at the world-renowned Head of the Charles Regatta, as the club eight crew was the top collegiate finisher (second place overall) and the championship eight shell finished among the top 10 collegiate competitors (14th place overall).
The Regional Coach of the Year award is intended to recognize a coach who has experienced outstanding success during the season, demonstrated great team improvement from the prior season, fulfilled their team's potential and/or demonstrated a high level of professionalism and integrity as a coach. The other Regional Coaches of the Year are Andy Teitelbaum (Ohio State) in the Central Region, Lori Dauphiny (Princeton University ) in the Mid-Atlantic Region, Liz O'Leary (Harvard-Radcliffe) and Will Porter (Yale University) (tie) in the New England Region and Dave O'Neill (University of California, Berkley) in the West Region.
The Lady Vols will conclude their season when they travel to Sacramento, Calif., for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for May 28-30.
