JERSEY, JERSEY ON THE WALL . . .
Lady Vol basketball coach Pat Summitt has announced that former Lady Vol All-American Tamika Catchings will have her #24 jersey retired at halftime of Tennessee's game versus longtime rival, #12 Louisiana Tech, on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, in Thompson-Boling Arena. Catchings, a rare four-time Kodak All-American, starred for Tennessee during the 1997-2001 seasons. Despite missing the final 17 games of her senior campaign due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament, Catchings finished her Lady Vol career with 2,113 career points and 1,004 career rebounds. She joins fellow Lady Vol four-time All-American Chamique Holdsclaw as the only Lady Vols to register at least 2,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds. Sunday's tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m.
