Game 4
Fulmer Q&A
Tennessee vs. Rutgers
Sept. 28
Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, Tenn.
CBS -7 p.m. (EDT)
1. How do you get the squad to overcome the disappointment of the Florida game and concentrate on Rutgers?
A ? ?Our squad learned a big lesson from the Florida game ? about maturity, ball security, being accountable, penalties. Things that will beat you. Rutgers presents a challenge. The best way to get over a tough loss is to get back on the field again.?
2. What areas of play do you expect to concentrate on primarily this week as the Vols prepare for Rutgers?
A ? ?We will be looking for better fundamentals and more discipline. We must avoid losing games because of a lack of discipline. We can?t be making the mistakes we made against Florida.?
3. Who do you feel is developing as a deep threat to join Kelley Washington in the receiving corps?
A ? ?We?ve really struggled in that area. A couple of young guys we are trying to bring along are Jonathan Wade and Chris Hannon. Teams are playing us a little bit different. Leonard Scott is able to run past people. But he?s got to catch the ball.?
4. What concerns you most about the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who come to Neyland Stadium Saturday night to face Tennessee?
A ? ?Right now my main concern is our own Tennessee team. We need to put a complete game together and become the best team possible. Rutgers is capable of moving the ball on us, especially with its passing attack. Defensively, Rutgers uses multiple formations and applies a lot of pressure.?
5. Tell about the development of Dustin Colquitt, who you were encouraging this season to reach his potential.
A ? ?I?m really proud of Dustin, who has worked hard to improve and is starting to realize his full potential. He has been an important weapon for our team through three games. As a coach, it is gratifying to see a player develop the way Dustin has.?
