Handoyo and Carey Named to NCAA All-Tournament Team

Handoyo, a senior from Hilton Head, S.C., was named All-Tournament at No. 1 singles, where he was a perfect 5-0 in this year's NCAA Tournament, while Carey and Handoyo were named to the team as the No. 2 doubles tandem, marking the third consecutive year the Vols have placed a doubles tandum on the All-Tourney squad.
The duo was also a perfect 5-0 in the Vols' NCAA Tournament run, including clinching the doubles tally in the Vols' wins over Texas and Kentucky. Carey, who was voted the SEC Tournament's MVP April 21, was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team last season at No. 1 doubles, with partner Mark Parsons
Southern California's Prakash Amritraj was named the tournament's most valuable player. On Tuesday, Amritraj clinched a USC victory for the third straight day with a 7-6 (3), 7-5 victory over Georgia's Bo Hodge. The freshman also iced the matches against Illinois and Tennessee.
With the team championship now complete, the individual portion of the NCAA tournament begins Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. with the singles round of 64.
ESPN will televise the team championship on a tape-delay basis on Tuesday, May 28 at 2 p.m. (EDT).
