May 10, 2002
Thirty-three (33) University of Tennessee student-athletes will be among the graduating seniors at Saturday's ceremonies at Thompson-Boling Arena. In the forefront will be former Vol basketball player Tony White, who played his last game for the Vols in 1986-87 and was a two-time SEC scoring champion.
The SEC Player of the Year in 1987, White is the University of Tennessee's single-game scoring king with 51 points and is currently the third all-time leading scorer in school history with 2219 points. He is the sixth-leading scorer in SEC history and is one of only five UT players to score more than 2000 career points.
Following a successful professional career in the NBA and overseas, White returned to UT last year to finish work on his degree.
