Athens, Ga. -- The second game of a three-game baseball series between Tennessee and Georgia at Foley Field was halted due to heavy rain following the fourth inning with the Volunteers holding a 2-0 lead.
Under the Southeastern Conference inclement weather policy, the halted game shall be completed from the point of interruption on Sunday prior to the regularly scheduled game. Then, the regularly scheduled game shall be seven innings.
The game will be picked up at Noon ET, with the second game starting approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first on a Brandon Hopkins sacrifice fly, Ryan Moffett led off the fourth with his third home run of the season to give Tennessee a 2-0 advantage.
Both starters were still in the game at the time it was halted. Patrick Hicklen had shutout the Bulldogs on two hits through four innings, while working out of a bases loaded no-out jam in the fourth.
Bill Sharpton also looked strong for Georgia despite giving up the two runs on two hits.
Georgia (14-6, 6-1 SEC) rallied from an 8-5 deficit to take a 9-8 decision over Tennessee (13-16, 1-6 SEC) Friday night in the series opener.
