KNOXVILLE, Tenn.
University of Tennessee junior forward Gwen Jackson suffered a left shoulder subluxation in the second half of Sunday's 52-50 win over Georgia in Athens and will not participate in Monday's practice or Tuesday's game versus Texas.
Jackson, a preseason All-SEC and Naismith Player of the Year Award candidate who currently averages 10.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg, will have an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) exam on Tuesday morning to rule out a labral tear within the shoulder.
The Eufaula, Ala., native's status following the exam will be day-to-day and she will begin rehab as soon as possible in hopes of a quick return.
