Tennessees Mark Parsons and Peter Handoyo were named second team All-SEC by the league office Wednesday. This is the third All-SEC selection for both players. Parsons is a senior from St. Johns, Newfoundland and is ranked No. 46 nationally. He has had an up and down year, which saw him lose eight of nine matches at one point. Parsons has since righted the ship and began a new streak that has seen him win five of seven matches and captured SEC player of the week honors for the week of March 27-April 2. Parsons has a 20-16 record overall this season and a 6-5 SEC mark. He has done this while playing the No. 1 position for the Vols, a position that has put him up against 21 straight players that were ranked at the time of the match or are currently listed among the nations elite. Handoyo is a junior from Hilton Head, S.C. and is ranked No. 38 nationally. He has been a great performer and leader for the Vols this season, leading the team in both wins (30) and winning percentage (81%). He has also amassed a 9-2 SEC record, which leads the team. |
