"Mississippi is a hard team for us to play because they don't have a lot of a visual fire. Our team feeds off their opponents emotions," said co-head coach Sonia Hahn-Patrick. "Coming off of three very tough matches our team has incentive to keep on winning. I think we played an even six-on-six match today, something that we didn't do in some of our earlier matches. Everyone competed at their spot."
Mississippi entered the match with a 1-6 SEC record and one player and one doubles team ranked in the ITA national rankings. After the match Mississippi fell to 7-10 overall and 1-7 in league play.
UT's doubles shined on Sunday as every team picked up a "W". The No. 46 rated tandem of junior Kim Gates and sophomore Vilmarie Castellvi defeated No. 34 Julie DeRoo and Mira Radu, 9-8 (3) at the first doubles slot. Tennessee's No. 2 pairing of junior Alison Ojeda and sophomore Crystal Cleveland raced off the court with an 8-2 victory over Karem Harboe and Audra Adams. In the No. 3 match, freshman Brooke Cordell and junior Agnes Wiski got the better of Hanna-Katri Aalto and Camille Gould, 8-4.

Wiski would deliver the No. 4 match at 6-0, 7-6 (1) over Harboe and Gates then clinched the league contest for her team when she came off court two with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) triumph over Aalto.

Cleveland extended her singles winning streak at No. 5 slot, dealing Sabrina Peppl a 6-0, 6-3 setback. She has now won every match she has been entered in for six weeks straight. Cordell brought home the No. 6 tilt, topping Adams, 7-5, 6-2.
The Lady Vols improve to 17-2 overall and 6-1 in league play.
Tennessee will play host to SEC rival Mississippi State on Friday. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m. on the Varsity Courts.
