Yarbrough, Slay Earn All-SEC Honors

Tennessees Vincent Yarbrough and ="" target="_blank">Ron Slay were named All-Southeastern Conference Monday in a vote by the leagues coaches.
Yarbrough, a junior forward from Cleveland, leads the No. 24 Vols in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (7.2) this season. He was a second-team selection by the coaches for the second consecutive year. He averaged 15.9 points a game in SEC play this season.
Slay, a sophomore forward from Nashville, has been the Vols sixth man for much of the 2001 campaign, providing an offensive and emotional spark to the team off the bench by averaging 12.5 points per outing. Slay was named to the coaches third-team
Ole Miss head coach Rod Barnes, who led the Rebels to the SEC Western Division crown was tabbed by the coaches as the leagues Coach of the Year, while Kentuckys Tayshaun Prince was honored as the SEC Player of the Year. Justin Reid of Ole Miss was the coaches choice for Freshman of the Year.
Yarbrough, Harris and Victor Honored by NABC
Earlier this week, Yarbrough, Tony Harris and Isiah Victor were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 7 teams. Yarbrough was named to the first-team while Harris and Victor were each second-team selections.
