The Vols, who lost to the Bulldogs in double overtime on Jan. 27 in Athens, hosts Georgia in an 8 p.m. game on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Thompson-Boling Arena. This is the final game of a three-game homestand for the Volunteers. The homestand featured the top three teams in the Southeastern Conferences Eastern Division. The Vols opened the three-game stretch against league-leading Kentucky on Feb. 14 and then hosted Florida on Feb. 18. After Wednesdays Georgia game, Tennessee hits the road for games at Vanderbilt and South Carolina before concluding the regular season schedule with a home date against LSU on March 3. Vols Fall in National Polls This will be the second meeting this season between Tennessee and Georgia. On Jan. 27, Tennessee fell to the Bulldogs 77-75 in double overtime in Athens. The Vols held a 13-point halftime lead but only managed to score 19 points in the second half as the Bulldogs stormed back to force the game into overtime. After the two teams were tied 68-68 at the end of the first overtime period, Rashad Wright connected Chris Daniels on a long pass that resulted in a lay-up with 7.3 second left to give UGA the upset win over the sixth-ranked Vols. Isiah Victor led the Vols with 15 points and 13 rebounds while D.A. Layne led Georgia with 24 points. Vols Looking to End Streak Tennessee, which dropped home games to Kentucky and Florida last week, is looking to avoid its first three-game home losing streak since January and February of 1995 when the Vols lost five home games in a row. Despite dropping its last two decisions at home, Tennessee has been tough at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Vols have won 11 of their 13 home games this year with their only home losses coming to Kentucky and Florida last week. The loss to the Wildcats ended Tennessees 18-game home winning streak. During Jerry Greens four years at Tennessee, the Vols are 54-6 in Thompson-Boling Arena. Walker Progressing Georgia, which is coming off a week off, ended a four-game losing streak on Feb. 14 with a 70-68 win over Vanderbilt.
