| Game 11 Fulmer Q&A Tennessee vs. Florida Dec. 1 at Gainesville CBS (4:30 p.m./Eastern) 1. Tell what qualities have established UT's Casey Clausen and Florida's Rex Grossman as two of the best quarterbacks in the nation. A - "Both are bright young men, both very young to have mastered as much football as they have, concept-wise. They're very talented, both with the ability to throw the ball downfield accurately. They have some excellent leadership skills, again remarkable because they are so young. They are both competitors, able to rally the squad around them." 2. In a game of this magnitude, how important is it that everybody plays to the limit of his ability? A - "It's important in every game. In this kind of game there is a different level, with a chance to rise above the norm. It's vital that our players do that, just as they have all season." 3. How did the Vanderbilt game help the Vols get ready for the meeting with Florida for the SEC Eastern Division championship? A - "It helped us emotionally. I challenged our team. We didn't play a good game against Kentucky, partly, of course, due to what Kentucky did to us. Part of it might have been looking ahead to Florida. But I didn't want that to happen again. I didn't want to limp into Gainesville. I challenged our team, and they responded in the Vanderbilt game." 4. How are Florida and Tennessee different from what they were back in September? A - "If we'd played in September, we wouldn't have had Donte Stallworth, and we wouldn't have had John Henderson. Our quarterback has learned some things by being on the road. The experience level of the team, especially young backs getting a chance to be better, is another factor that has made us better. The kicking game is another place we have improved." 5. Physically, are the Vols in shape for Saturday's important game with Florida in Gainesville? A - "I'm concerned about our physical health after playing six straight games, six straight tough games. We are banged up right now, but looking forward to putting as many players back on the field as we can." |
